Once a month we hold community outreach events, and they are called C2 – Community Connection
The goal is to take our church into the community with the purpose of connecting our community to Christ and our church.
October 2017: Super Hero and Princess Day at Brenner’s Children’s Hospital
We will put together Care Packages for the children at Brenner’s Children’s Hospital and some of our Super Heroes and Princesses will be dressed to impress and taking the packages to the kids.
September 2017: Support our Heroes C2
We will be giving out care bags to our local Police officers, Fire Fighters, and EMS to let them know how much we appreciate their service and all that they do to help our community.
August 2017: Back to School Block Party & Giveaway
On August 19 we will host a Back to School Block Party at Central Recreation Center in Thomasville. During this time, we will provide back to school supplies, back to school clothes, haircuts and lunch to our community.
July 2017: Wet and Wild Emerald Point Day with Mill’s Home
What a fun day we had enjoying the water slides with the kids from Mill’s Baptist Children’s Home. Through the generosity and love of the people of Mt. Pleasant, we were able to purchase tickets for 29 residents and house parents. This was such a great day!!
June 2017: Neighborhood Outreach & Breakfast Giveaway
We enjoyed being in the communities of Ledford Downs and Ledford South sharing the unfailing love of Jesus by handing out Chick Fil A gifts, Mt. Pleasant times of worship, VBS and MTP Kids information.
May 2017: Balloon Launch
On Mother’s Day we honored all Mother’s with a Balloon launch after worship service. We received donations for each balloon and those donations went to the Salem Crisis Pregnancy Center.
March & April 2017: Clothing Drive & Outreach Dinner
The wonderful folks of Mt. Pleasant purchased spring & summer clothing for all of the residents of Mill’s Baptist Children’s Home. These gifts were given out during our Outreach Dinner and Easter Cantata on April 8.
February 2017: Fill the Bottle – Support for Salem Crisis Pregnancy Center
We will be collecting change in baby bottles to give to the Salem Crisis Pregnancy Center. This will allow the SCPC to purchase an ultrasound machine as well as hire an Ultrasound Technician to be on staff.
January 2017: Teacher Appreciation
Through the generosity of all of the folks at MTP, we were able to feed breakfast to around 1100 school staff members (16 local schools)! We made sure that each school received bottled waters, granola bars, fruit, muffins and a hand written thank you note for all of the staff at each local Davidson County school.
2016 C2 PROJECTS
December 2016: Mills Home Outreach
On Saturday, December 10 we will present our Christmas Cantata for our community with our special guests being residents from Mills Home and Thomasville. The Cantata will be followed by dinner and an opportunity to provide Christmas presents for the children who are at Mills Home. We would love volunteers to help serve, greet and sit at the tables with the children during the meal to be here by 5:30pm.
November 2016: Teddy Bear Outreach & Feeding the FLC Workers
In November, we collected Teddy Bears to donate to the Davidson County Prison Ministries. DCPM sponsors a Christmas program for the children of the prisoners in Davidson County. The Teddy Bears are given to the children at their Christmas party.
We were able to feed the FLC Workers homemade soup to show our appreciation for all of the hard work that they have been doing!
October 2016: Wallburg Elementary Boo Bash
On Friday, October 7, MTP was at Wallburg Elementary’s Boo Bash from 5-7pm. We were able to provide hot dogs for around 300 people. Being able to do our C2 Projects at a local school is always a great time of fellowship.
September 2016: Feeding the FLC Workers
The MTP Family Life Center construction crew has really been working hard on building our FLC. Our way of saying thank you is feeding them! We’ve had the opportunity to feed them both breakfast and lunch as well as take them small treats at different times throughout the month.
August 2016: Support the Blue C2
We gave out care bags to our local law enforcement officers to let them know how much we appreciate their service and all that they do to help our community. The church made over 250 bags for the congregation to hand out, and we also had folks who made up extra bags to hand out.
July 2016: Service Appreciation for our First Responders
Through the generosity of our congregation, we were able to provide breakfast for 12 area Fire Stations. We delivered sausage biscuits, waters, breakfast bars and fruit! The Fire Departments included are; High Point Fire Stations 1,2,3,7 & 10, Hasty Fire Department, Pilot Fire Department, Wallburg Fire Department, Horneytown Fire Department, Midway Fire Department and Thomasville Fire Stations 2 & 4. Our desire is to demonstrate the unfailing love of Jesus and show our community that we are praying for them and appreciate their commitment and service.
June 2016: Block Party
What better way to meet your neighbors than to have a block party? Our congregation took the time to gather with their friends and neighbors for a time of fellowship.
April 2016: Small Group C2
This month, each of our Small Group’s decided to do a different C2 project. They took on providing snacks for Hospice House, collecting toys for Brenner’s Children’s Hospital and many other wonderful community projects.
March 2016: Spring Ball Opening Night
MTP Grill masters fed around 150 folks at the Friendship Elementary School Spring Ball Opening Night. Pastor Chris helped with baseball and softball activities on the field and our volunteers enjoyed speaking with all of the students, faculty and parents.
February 2016: Love Has a Plan Care Boxes
What if women with unplanned pregnancies ran to the church for love and support?
Mt. Pleasant will be putting together “Love Has a Plan” Care Boxes that will include a handwritten note, the book “Bump In Life”, a personal Study Bible and a onesie with Psalm 119:14 on the front.
January 2016: Clothing Give-Away & Teacher Outreach
MTP had 2 January C2 Projects.
1st C2 Event was a Clothing Give-Away held on Saturday, January 16 from 10am-12pm. We were able to give away 100s of clothing articles to local families in need.
2nd C2 Event was our Teacher Outreach on Wednesday, January 20. Due to the generosity of all of our MTP folks, we were able to feed breakfast to around 1100 school staff members! We made sure that each school received bottled waters, granola bars, fruit, muffins and a hand written thank you note for all of the staff at each local Davidson County school.
2015 C2 PROJECTS:
Out first major event of the year was our community outreach to the teachers in our area. Through your generosity we were able to provide breakfast for nearly 1100 school staff, by collecting over 1200 muffins, waters, breakfast bars and 500lbs of fruit! The schools included Ledford High, Ledford Middle, Friendship, Wallburg, Hasty, Midway, Oak Grove, Pilot, Brier Creek, East Davidson, Brown and Fairgrove. Our goal was to let the teachers in our community know that we are praying for them and appreciate their commitment. In addition, our desire was to demonstrate to them the unfailing love of Jesus. I would like to give a big thank you to all who participated by providing items, writing notes and making deliveries.
Valentine’s Freeze Mob
On February 7 we flooded the community with valentines reminding everyone of Jesus’ unfailing love. Signs were provided and each attendee participated in a Freeze Mob.
Bring a Friend Saturday
Saturday, March 21 we had our first Saturday night service. We came together in worship from 5:30-6:30 and then enjoyed supper at 6:30.

We will connect with one of our newer groups of community members by sharing God’s love with the people of ‘Wallburg Landing’. We will be grilling hotdogs, sharing Jesus and providing games for children.

Hill’s Farm and Garden
MTP will be connecting with our Thomasville community and providing coffee and donuts to people at Hill’s Farm and Garden during their Customer Appreciation Day. We will also have the opportunity to provide plants to the families who attend. If you would be interested in helping during this C2 event, please sign up in the church lobby. Hill’s Farm and Garden is located at 215 Randolph Street in Thomasville.

Tour De Pig
MTP will be staffing a refreshment tent for all of the bikers.
Mt. Pleasant will be providing 40 comfort bags in November to new foster parents through a group called IAMJ3 out of Lexington. There are bins in the church lobby for anyone who would like to donate items to place their donations. These bags are going to be given to foster parents who are given little to no notice in terms of when a new foster child will be delivered to them. The comfort bag items will allow them to have enough necessary things to carry them through until they can purchase a supply of their own. All comfort bag items will need to be back to the church by October 18th.
MTP will be handing out convenience bags for folks to give out as they see fit to homeless or down on their luck people.
