The Shepherd’s Staff – November 2024

Greetings Mt. Pleasant Church from your elder team. As we enter the season of Thanksgiving, we should always remember to express an attitude of gratitude throughout the entire year for all the blessings God pours out for us daily. He is always faithful and has done so much in our lives. In fact, God’s blessings are so abundant that one day or one season just doesn’t seem quite adequate. As followers of Christ, the act of giving thanks shouldn’t be about being thankful for our earthly possessions, but rather a celebration of our salvation that Jesus so freely gave to each one of us when he died on the cross. What greater gift than eternal life with our Creator is there to be thankful for?

If you are new to Mt. Pleasant, our “Lunch with the Pastors” is an excellent opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal and learn more about the church. It also provides an opportunity to meet the leadership of the church and to ask any questions you may have before becoming a part of Mt. Pleasant.

For those that have chosen to take that next step in their faith journey, we get to celebrate that with them on Celebration Sunday this month. It’s always an exciting time watching new members and new believers share the love and joy of Christ on this special day.

November is also the month our youth take off to the mountains to unplug and disconnect for their annual mountain retreat. It is a wonderful opportunity for our young adults to leave all the distractions behind and grow closer to God, high up on a mountain, surrounded by His beautiful creation.

“Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭18‬ ‭NLT‬‬
