22 Sep The Shepherd’s Staff – September 2021
Our new Pastoral Care Associate Pastor, Tim Starbuck, has already been with us at a few meetings here at MTP. We are excited to have Tim come on board full time starting October 4. He is looking forward to joining our work here and will be a tremendous asset to God’s work in the community.
Next month we will begin the process for nominating Elders and Administrative Council members. The Elders have been using training guides that are available to anyone who is considering nomination for Elder. This material was challenging and enlightening to us as we tried to understand our role as Elder at MTP.
Felecia has publicized a link to video lectures and reading material that accompany the lectures. Anyone who wishes to pursue nomination as an Elder must watch the lectures and work through the material as an orientation to the role of Elder.

We will hold our leadership elections in late November, the exact dates for each step will be published as we get closer to them. Three of our Elders will step off and we will need to elect three new candidates to serve a 3-year term.
We will begin our candidate nomination process later in October, you will have the opportunity to nominate Elder candidates via online or on a paper ballot at church. Please be in prayer about your nominations as our Elders serve the vital role of the spiritual leaders of the Church. An Elder nominee must be a mature believer who is able to teach and rightly handle the word of God.
As a reminder, if you have anything you wish to share from working with our staff, please discuss it with one of the Elders. Please share any positive experiences as well as any suggestions you may have. We will begin staff reviews in October and conclude in November. Your feedback is important to us so that we can best shepherd our staff and encourage them in their work here at MTP.
We would like to ask you to join with us in prayer for the family of Deborah Durham, who passed away on September 17. If you don’t know Deborah, Deborah and Donnie Durham were a dynamic team when they served as Pastoral Care ministers at MTP. Deborah was also both Pastor Chris and Tommy McDevitt’s mother-in-law. Deborah and her ministry were such a blessing to this church and she will be greatly missed.
Please reach out to us if you need our support with any spiritual needs or have any questions we can help answer.

Col 1:9 And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
